***BREAKING NEWS***
Sue was pleased to receive the endorsement of the Argus Leader Editorial Board to represent the SE District on the Sioux Falls City Council on Saturday, April 10. According to the Argus Leader:
"Aguilar possesses an exceptionally well-defined sense of City Council leadership. She recognizes the need to 'create an environment for Sioux Falls to move forward,' as she says, a view that captures the essential nature of where Sioux Falls stands today.
Aguilar is a clear advocate for a recreation center to help further Sioux Falls' quality of life but also balances that support with the need for top-notch infrastructure.
And she was the only candidate in her race to acknowledge the importance of keeping pace with adequate police and fire services."

Sue Aguilar chosen as Sioux Empire United Way Volunteer of the Year
On February 10, 2010 at the Sioux Empire United Way Thank You Event, Sue was honored as the 2009 Sioux Empire United Way Volunteer of the Year. The following are excerpts from the presentation ceremony:
"...Sue is in her 11th year of volunteering for the United Way through the Community Impact Division. In that time, she served as a volunteer member of the Success by Six Impact Team for nine years, with four of those years as the Team Chair."
"In her first year of Chairing the Community Impact Division, Sue empowered the volunteers to make bold decisions to meet the needs of the Sioux Empire. In the economic downtown, she challenged the volunteers to look at NEEDS and avoid WANTS. In doing so, she set the tone that created some of the boldest decisions ever made."
"She is thoughtful in her questions and discussions but is not afraid to approach tough subjects. She is innovative, dependable, and committed to serving others."
A word of thanks from Sue:
"My thanks to all those responsible for selecting me for this honor. To be honored by such a great organization for something I love to do is both a proud and humbling moment."
